OUR STORY

Excellence in music and performance

The Tiger Regiment received superior ratings in District Marching, Jazz, and Concert Music Performance Assessment for the first time since 2019.

The Martin County High School Tiger Regiment, founded in 1938, is an esteemed program dedicated to the advancement of musical and performance excellence. With a legacy spanning over 85 years, the Tiger Regiment continues to inspire and cultivate young musicians, instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and artistic expression.



As we approach our 87th edition in 2024, the Tiger Regiment remains committed to delivering superior performances across a variety of ensembles, including our renowned Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Martin County Indoor Percussion (MCI), and Winterguard.

Our new initiative focuses on pushing the boundaries of musical and artistic capabilities, encouraging students to reach new heights in their performance skills and personal growth.

  • Tiger Regiment

    The Tiger Regiment is the heart of the Martin County High School band program, encompassing all band and color guard students.


    This ensemble is a co-curricular requirement for those enrolled in the band or color guard class.


    The regiment performs at home football games, one away game, and various marching competitions throughout the season. Additionally, they participate in local parades, showcasing their skills and school spirit.

  • Concert Band

    The Concert Band includes the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, with students assigned based on placement auditions.


    Every student is guaranteed a spot in a concert ensemble, which serves as their daily band class.


    The Concert Band performs multiple formal concerts each year, including the Winter Concert, Pre-MPA Concert, and Spring Concert. They also participate in district and state MPAs, as well as Solo & Ensemble assessments.

  • Jazz Ensemble

    Jazz Ensemble is a curricular class dedicated to the exploration of various musical styles such as Jazz, Swing, Blues, Rock, Funk, and Latin.


    The ensemble performs at formal concerts each quarter and participates in district and state Jazz MPAs. In addition to school events, the Jazz Ensemble frequently performs at community events like Stuart WinterFest and the Martin County Fair.

  • Percussion Class

    The Percussion Class caters to students who focus on percussion as their primary or secondary instrument.


    The curriculum covers all disciplines of percussion, with students assigned to various ensembles based on their skills. These ensembles include the Tiger Regiment's Drum Line and Front Ensemble, as well as the Concert Band's Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.


    The Percussion Ensemble performs at the Spring PRISM Concert, and students can also join the competitive Martin County Indoor Percussion (MCI) team.

  • Color Guard Class

    The Color Guard Class is designed for students whose primary 'instrument' is color guard.


    The class covers all aspects of color guard performance and technique. Color guard members perform with the Tiger Regiment during the marching season and have opportunities to compete in Solo & Ensemble MPAs at both district and state levels.


    During the winter season, they transition to Winter Guard, where they compete regionally and strive for excellence in indoor color guard performances.
